The guarantee label
WHEN
The first goal that the Genuine Italian Vegetable-Tanned Leather Consortium set for itself since its very beginning was to create a quality trademark able to identify and guarantee the vegetable-tanned leather produced by its member tanneries.
The second step, in 1998, was the creation of a guarantee label, a tangible device in support of the trademark, aiming to:
- Certifying the origin of the product
- Stating respect for the environment
- Attesting the naturalness of leather
- Ensuring the high level of the tanning process in full respect of the rules UNI 10885
HOW
The Genuine Italian Vegetable-Tanned Leather Consortium and its associated tanneries are the exclusive owners of this trademark and they, only, can allow their customers to use it by signing a contract of licence which entitles them to attach the guarantee label Vegetable-Tanned Leather of Tuscany to their finished products.
WHAT
It is an informative tag that certificates the originality and naturalness of the vegetable-tanned leather supplied by our member tanneries. Each tag is printed with anti-counterfaiting techniques. It is also progressively numbered to be easily recognised and allow the Consortium to identify both the supplying tannery and the product manufacturer at any time and all over the world.
The tags are available in multilingual version with text in Italian, English and Japanese.
WHY
It will be an added value for your products, identifying a natural leather, ensuring the end consumer about the quality of his purchase and making him more conscious of what he buys: the prime matter used to make our vegetable-tanned leather is a harmless material both for man and the environment and our productive cycle follows the most rigorous laws to ensure the safety of human labour.
