THE AWARD CEREMONY

The award ceremony was held on September 21st., 2010 at NABA, Nuova Accademia delle Belle Arti in Milan. The Jury, composed by Oliviero Toscani as chairman, Andrea Ghizzani, President of the Genuine Italian Vegetable-Tanned Leather Consortium, Bruno Collin, Michele De Lucchi, Akemi Fukazawa, Luca Molinari, Pietro Carlo Pellegrini and Carlo Ratti awarded the three winning projects. The jury members have been positively surprised and impressed by the creativity and originality of all the projects participating to the contest. They all stressed that vegetable-tanned leather is for the first time subject of an international design contest and that vegetable-tanned leather may become a material of research and innovation in the field of architecture and design. The projects placed first, second and third received a cash prize but all the projects presented were exhibited during the award ceremony. Anyone of them could be chosen to be part of the collection “PELLE+ limited Edition”, a limited collection of unique pieces hand-made in Italy with prestigious materials.
