“PICCOLE STORIE DI FIGURANTI ANONIMI”: the exhibition of Valerio Comparini

The restless mind of Valerio Comparini brings to the forefront the figures of the province – writes Serena Becagli, art critic – the funny and somewhat bitter stories of ordinary characters, who probably did not even want to make us aware of their faults and their trivial stories. Instead here they are on a pedestal, as if they had decided, with a “coup”, to demolish the monuments dedicated to the great heroes, to the important characters, to take their place, to come to the fore front to tell us about their personal truth. The shape seems to be the classic one of the cartoon published in a newspaper, the oversized heads, the decidedly accentuated characters, as if the artist had at some point taken his sketches and enlarged them to assume the importance of a painting, going to emphasize imperfections even more

Work in Progress

mostra-comparini
